Infrared Technology News

Today there are more infrared manufacturers than ever and more cameras to choose from. The microbolometer has literally changed the business forever. This is a great thing because infrared cameras give humans that sixth sense we would not otherwise be able to enjoy. Whether you or a firefighter, electrician, home builder, pilot, chiropractor, ghost hunter or pest control expert, you have probably heard of or even used a thermal imaging camera. They are more prevalent than ever. They are in BMW’s, Honda’s, Porches, and Harley Davidson’s and Gulfstreams jets. As prices continue to fall the numbers of systems sold continue to rise.

ICI has recently introduced the smallest and lightest imaging radiometer in the world.

In its class it is the most sensitive thermal imaging camera you will find. It is a rock solid system made from the toughest aerospace aluminum available. The footprint of this amazing little camera is smaller than the credit card in your back pocket and the images coming from this system are nothing short of spectacular. One small USB 2.0 cable sends power to the camera and digital video to your computer. They have recently integrated this little jewel with a Sony micro PC. Now they put the camera with the Sony Micro PC and decided to call it the “Prodigy”. I believe this system is revolutionary. The power of a computer with the smallest and most sensitive uncooled camera in the world! It makes me really wonder what we will have in the next 10 years.

Recently, Texas Infrared, Advanced Infrared Resources and Howard Engineering and merged together. “ICI” short for “Infrared Cameras Inc’ is the result www.infraredcamerasinc.com . The other is the organization they created is “Infrared Training Institute” or “ITI”. What an amazing organization they have created. Each of these companies have endured and been successful in their own right, but the combination is a powerful one that I believe will endure the ages. Check out the Infrared Training Institute.
